Happy Mothers Day!!!

I wish all my fellow stitchers that are mothers, that will be mothers and hope to mothers, Happy Mothers Day!
At this time I think about those Mothers who have influenced me and are now gone,

Gladys, my grandmother (not the best picture in the world, but she had recently had and I infection).  She taught me how to do my wifely chores, cook, clean and balance a checkbook.  She also never took anything off of anybody.

My mom, Audrey, (this was a year or two before I came along),  She was the hardest working woman I ever knew, and she was my best friend, she died at my house in 1989.  I miss her every day, but she lives in my heart.

My mother in law, also a Glady's, there were days that I could of screamed, but she loved her family and especially her boys.  Coming from a small family this had tremendous influence.  This was taken at my mothers funeral, gosh doesn't my husband look grand (he is the one on her right) the other one on her left (no jacket) is my BIL Mike, who is living us now.  She passed in 2000, and Dad in 2001. 

And we cant forget our feline mom's...Annie (she will get something special)

For mother's to be I want to wish my niece who just graduated from University of Florida, Pharmacy School and is expecting her first today and my nephew wife's, is also expecting her first.  To my other niece's Rachel and Jaime, who have their own little broods that they are molding into wonderful people.
Well while I've got you here let me give you an update on my Happy Christmas...

Moving along..

Here's my progress, its really coming along.  

Well did everyone see Season II of the new Sherlock Holmes, my husband really likes this version of Sherlock, I can't really make up my mind.  It took me quite a while to warm up to Season I, well its really going to take me awhile to warm up to this one.  I checked the Masterpiece board on Facebook, and most like it... maybe its me.  I'm still faithful to Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett, but mostly to Basil. 

But fear not Joel McCrea is star of the month, every Wednesday Nite, totally devoted to Joel through the month of May.. Tonight they have a great line up, Foreign Correspondent and Woman Wanted to some unknowns, for more info take a look here, you might want to check in as well.

Happy Christmas

For the past two days I have been stitching on Happy Christmas.  I have started work on another page.   Recently I found my 8 x 8 QSnaps, it has become very handy and helpful. QSnaps are great because they don't leave any marks like hoops.  However, the larger QSnaps I find difficult and hard on the hand to hold for any length of time, so the little square is perfect. 

We are getting ready to have a horrendous thunderstorm here in Virginia, it looks like its 8:00pm when its only 4:00pm, so I will sign off to stitch..

               

Well I have been stitching away on Houtman's 9-11, I have now have completed the second row.. I will probably do the translation for that bare spot last.  Mr. Houtman did not chart it in English as he did the Lord's Prayer will be coming up soon. 

In my previous post, I mentioned that I had done alot of work on "Harley's" (GD) Birth Sampler, only to find and error, that I could not correct, so out it all came.   Well I found the picture in the camera, for some reason it wasn't coming up in the download, so I had thought I deleted it.. So here's the miscounted medallion that is no more...

 Well it seems like summer has arrived in Virginia, and we are finally getting some much needed rain.  For the past two mornings we have had thunderstorms, at 5 am, right when DH has to leave to catch the train.  But the rest of the days are mild but you can feel the humidity creeping in. But the cats are enjoying their porch, especially their new rocker (may be one of the days I can get a picture of either Ishy, Rhory or Beau on the rockers. 

The only other thing going on is, Paul (DH) and I are heading to Richmond this weekend, so I can do some research at the State Archives and have lunch down at the old section by the James.  I will try to get some pictures to share.  But for now, I will leave you my dear Rhory, he is the sweetest boy...
